Vietnam brocade culture festival in Dak Nong province

The first Vietnam brocade culture festival will take place from December 27th to 30th, 2018, in Gia Nghia town, the Central Highlands of province of Dak Nong, to mark the 15th founding anniversary of the province (January 1st).

Diverse activities such as the opening ceremony, in combination with theatrical presentations of legends and epics of ethnic minorities in Dak Nong province; brocade weaving contest; show of traditional clothes; seminar on brocade culture; fair on brocade products and clothes; gastronomy and folk games, will be held during the event.

The festival will be held to preserve and promote traditional patterns and costumes of ethnic groups in general and in Dak Nong province in particular; introduce the traditional clothes and tourism potential in the province to visitors and international friends; promote socio-economic development and improve people’s enjoyment of culture; improve awareness of party committees and authorities and local people in the preservation and promotion of traditional patterns and costumes.

It is expected to be organized every two years in Gia Nghia town. The scale will be gradually extended, inviting more provinces and cities, and several countries in the world./.
