The paintings express the nature of the two countries through different styles.

Well known as one of Asia’s talented international female artists, Van Duong Thanh grew up in Hanoi and studied for twelve years at l’Ecole de Beaux Arts, Indochine and at the Academy of Fine Arts. She conducted research at the Institute of Culture in Hanoi from 1981 to 1987. She now divides her time between Sweden, where she teaches art, and Hanoi.

Her works were added by the Vietnamese National Museum of Art to its collection for the first time when she was 20. Since then, many of her exquisite artworks are on permanent display in National Museums of Art in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Spain and Sweden.

This exhibition will spread to the people of the two countries, not only art lovers.

Oh, who paints in the impressionist style, said that she was lucky to get to know Thanh when she read about her in a Korean newspaper in 2017. She came to Vietnam and learnt to paint from Thanh.

The exhibition is held to tighten the friendship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea and promote bilateral diplomacy, especially in the field of painting.

It will run until January 26th at the Korean Cultural Centre, No.49 Nguyen Du Street./.
