Vietnam - Laos border culture, sports and tourism exchange

The information was released at a press briefing held in Hanoi on June 27th by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Son La provincial People’s Committee.

The event will be a special activity to celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos, and 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC). It will draw the participation of about 100 participants from ten Lao provinces and 900 from nine Vietnamese cities and provinces.

Diverse activities such as musical performances, shows featuring traditional costumes, traditional rituals, cultural products, food, images of Vietnamese people and land, sports and tours around Son La city will take place.

The event will also feature an award ceremony, with 88 medals to be presented to Lao officials by the Vietnamese Government on July 5th, and an inauguration ceremony for an area of Vietnam-Lao historical and revolutionary relics located in Lao Kho village Yen Chau district the following day./.
