After being selected for the 2017 Oscars, the Vietnamese film “Toi thay hoa vang tren co xanh” (Yellow flowers on green grass) has been invited to two other international cinema events, the Fukuoka International Film Festival and the 60th BFI London Film Festival.

The 60th BFI London Film Festival will take place from October 5th to 16th, 2016. The film “Toi thay hoa vang tren co xanh” was invited to participate in the Family segment. The film content was updated on the festival’s website.

Scenes in the film
The film, by Vietnamese-American director Victor Vu, has won Best Film at the TFF Kids International Film Festival 2016. It is based on the hit novel by Nguyen Nhat Anh, telling about the childhood of two brothers in the 1980s. Brothers Thieu and Tuong live in a rural area and are both best friends and sibling rivals. Thieu is the elder and has a crush on Moon, a girl in his class.

He becomes jealous of Tuong’s innocent friendship with the girl, which results in a shattering act of aggression that changes the brothers’ lives forever. The children’s interest in a local myth about a white tiger and a princess provides a compelling backdrop to this coming-of-age story about living with the consequences of your actions and the true meaning of friendship./.
