Animal feed plant of US group inaugurated in Ha Nam province

An animal feed plant of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), a US group, was inaugurated in Ha Nam on November 19th.

According to President of ADM's Animal Nutrition business Pierre Duprat, the building of the plant is part of the group’s strategy of expanding to key breeding areas in the north of Vietnam with convenient access to seaport facility services.

He said that the plant will employ about 200 seasonal and permanent workers.

The plant is expected to help Ha Nam province and neighbouring areas develop safe animal products for domestic sales and exports.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Acting Director of the Department of Livestock Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, hoped that with new modern technology and financial potentials, the plant will continue bring the latest technology to Vietnam and connecting the Vietnamese livestock market with the global market.

The plant, built on 4.6ha at Hoa Mac industrial park, Duy Tien district, mainly produces feed for pigs, poultry and rabbits.

Peacekeepers sent off to UN mission

A ceremony was organized t Ministry of Defence on November 19th to send 29 staff of Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital No. 2 to South Sudan to join UN peacekeeping mission.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rear Admiral Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, hoped that they will promote solidarity and mutual support to complete all assigned tasks with utmost safety.

After the ceremony, the first batch of the staff of the hospital started a 12-hour flight to South Sudan on a C-17A Globemaster III – the biggest aircraft that Australia sent to Vietnam to help transport the peacekeepers.

According to Mr. Binh, the leaders of the ministry, the General Staff and the General Department of Politics will create all favourable conditions for them to accomplish their mission.

He also asked the Vietnam Department of Peace Keeping Operations and relevant agencies to regularly update the situation of the hospital and ensure support policies for the hospital’s staff.

On November 26th, the rest of the 63 members of the Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital No. 2 will fly to South Sudan, together with 60 tonnes of supplies and equipment of the hospital.

Vietnam’s seafood export to US increases in 2019

In Jan-Sept period, squid and octopus export of Vietnam to the US market increased dramatically from 63.7 percent to reach 11.4 million USD.

The information was released byaccording to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Main export products included dried squid, marinated squid, frozen squid, frozen whole octopus and frozen processed octopus./.
