The weaving also demonstrates the traditional culture, intelligence and sophisticated techniques of H’re weavers, which have been passed down from generation to generation.

Over the recent years, departments, branches and localities in the province have encouraged and supported to develop the weaving; invest in scientific studies and projects on brocade weaving preservation; provide training courses for H’re ethnic girls, and participate in festivals, contributing to popularizing brocade weaving products.

Over 6.2 million foreigners visit Ho Chi Minh city in 9 months

The number of foreign tourists to Ho Chi Minh city reached more than 6.2 million from January to September 2019, a year-on-year rise of 14.3%, according to the city Department of Tourism.

Total tourism turnover in the nine months was estimated at VND108.3 trillion, a 74% increase year on year and 72.2% of the year’s plan.

The city tourism industry is strongly applying information technology in operating, managing, searching and processing documents.

At the same time, online public services are being operated to handle administrative procedures in the field.

The department also boosts tourism promotion activities by diversifying the organization of programs and events to attract more tourists to the southern hub.

Last year, Ho Chi Minh city welcomed more than 7 million foreign tourists. This year, the city strives to welcome 8-8.5 million foreign travelers.

Photos on Vietnam and Mexico on display in Hanoi

72 photos featuring the nature, people and culture of Vietnam and Mexico are on display at an exhibition which opened at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi on September 25th.

The photos were taken by three Mexican photographers, including Sergio Camalich, Eunice Chao, and Juan Carlos Duran, and three Vietnamese photographers, including Hoang Hai Thinh, Luu Viet Hung and Nguyen Viet Thanh. The exhibits reflect the intersection of daily life as well as festivals of people in the two countries.

The exhibition will run until October 25th./.
