Over 100 businesses participate in Vietnam International Fashion Fair 2019

The Vietnam International Fashion Fair (VIFF) 2019 opened at Hanoi's Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labour Cultural Palace in Hanoi on December 11th.

The event draws the participation of over 100 enterprises show-casing famous fashion brands in garments and textiles, leather footwear, and cosmetics and beauty care services across more than 200 stands, such as Viet Tien, Duc Giang, Garment 10, Hoa Tho, and Phong Phu garment corporations.

Within the framework of the event, the Vietnam International Beauty and Fashion Week is to be held for the first time.

The annual fair is an opportunity for domestic and international fashion businesses to meet and seek partners, while providing a platform for enterprises and designers to introduce their products to customers.

The event, which runs until December 15th, is expected to draw over 20,000 visitors.

39th National Television Festival opens in Khanh Hoa province

The 39th National Television Festival opened in the south central province of Khanh Hoa on December 12th.  

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularization and Education, said that television is taking the lead in communication work, and in the struggle against distorted and hostile views, thanks to its advantages in moving images and technology.

He emphasized that 2020 is a highly significant year in which Party Congresses at all levels and the 13th National Party Congress will take place. 2020 is also a year with many major national events.

Mr. Thuong asked the press, including television, needs to step up their media campaigns about these events as well as the significant achievements gained during the tenure of the 12th National Party Congress.

The National Television Festival is an annual event to honour the best television works. This year, the organisers have received nearly 500 works from 100 television units, competing in nine categories.

The festival will close on December 14th.

Four more Vietnam’s sites recognized as ASEAN heritage parks

Four more protected areas in Vietnam have been recognized as ASEAN Heritage Parks, making the country home to the largest number of such parks in the region.

The newly designated sites are Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong; Vu Quang National Park, which is located between Pu Mat National Park of Nghe An province and Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park of Quang Binh province in the Central region; Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park in the Southern province of Tay Ninh; and Ngoc Linh Nature Reserve in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum.

The certificates were presented at a ceremony held in Lam Dong province’s Da Lat city on December 10th.

At the event, Director of the Vietnam Environment Administration Nguyen Van Tai said the ASEAN Heritage Parks program, carried out since 2003, aims to conserve biodiversity in the areas of regional and international importance, help improve public awareness of the environment, and demonstrate the ASEAN people’s aspiration for nature conservation and sustainable development.

According to him, at the 15th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment last October, the four parks of Vietnam were recognized, raising the ASEAN Heritage Parks in the country to 10 - the largest number in the region.

The other sites in Vietnam are Ba Be, Kon Ka Kinh, Chu Mom Ray, Hoang Lien, U Minh Thuong, and Bai Tu Long national parks./.
