Over 50,000 visitors to President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum during National Day holidays

On the occasion of the 74th National Day (September 2nd), 50 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and 50 years of his death, from August 31st to September 2nd, 2019, President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum Management Ho Chi Minh welcomed 50,066 visitors, including 1,462 foreigners.

On September 2nd, the Management Board of the Mausoleum provided free drinks and bread to visitors.

According to Hanoi City Department of Tourism, the capital welcomed more than 270,000 tourists during the National Day holidays, up nearly 8.6 percent year-on-year. Of the figure, there were some 37,000 foreign holiday makers, up 3.2 percent against the same period last year. They were mainly from the Republic of Korea, China, Japan, the US, the UK, Spain and Malaysia, among others.

* Tropical depression set to hit central provinces

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression has formed in the East Sea, approximately 100km north of the Paracel Archipelago and is likely to develop into a typhoon.

Forecasters have stated that the centre of the tropical low pressure was located at 17.7 degrees north latitude and 112.0 degrees east longitude at 7am on September 3rd. The strongest winds close to the eye of the weather event were at between 40km and 50km per hour, affecting the central provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam./.
