On the occasion of the traditional mid-autumn festival, Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong has sent a letter to all children in Vietnam and Vietnamese children overseas to share the joy with them.

In the letter, he said he is happy to see the children study hard and actively join in social activities, with many of them winning prizes at international and national competitions, bringing fame to Vietnam and fostering hope and trust in young generations who are the future owners of the country.

The leader also wished all children a joyful and meaningful mid-autumn festival, which falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (September 13th this year). This festival is also called a children’s festival in Vietnam. On this occasion, many activities are held for children, including gatherings to decorate five-fruit trays, lantern parades, lion dances and gift giving.

Two Vietnamese universities first reached top 1,000 world rankings

According to an announcement of the latest World University Rankings 2020 of The Times Higher Education (THE), Vietnam has three universities, which are ranked for the first time, in which Hanoi National University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology are ranked among the 801-1,000 best universities in the world, while Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City is in the group of 1000+.

This year, THE ranked 1,395 higher education institutions out of a total of 1,820 higher education institutions participating in the ranking.

According to the World University Rankings 2020 of THE, University of Oxford continues to hold the No. 1 position in the world, followed by the California Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge, Stanford University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ho Chi Minh city is the first locality with wide area IoT coverage

A representative of Viettel on September 12th said that it has 1,000 broadcasting stations using technology of NB-IoT (Narrow Band - Internet of Things), covering 100% of Ho Chi Minh city.

With this scale, Viettel affirmed that it has completed the entire technical infrastructure supporting Internet connection for everything in Ho Chi Minh city, making this city the first locality in the country with wide area IoT coverage.

According to an announcement of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), Viettel is the only representative of Vietnam to be on the list of the first 50 Internet providers in the world to successfully deploy this technology./.
