Schools nationwide closed to prevent spread of 2019-nCoV

All 63 cities and provinces nationwide allow their students stay at home as part of enhanced measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

According to Vietnam News Agency, 55 cities and provinces decided to extend Lunar New Year holiday for students for another week, four provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Dien Bien and Nghe An extend school closure until further notice, and schools in Ben Tre province were closed for one day for sterilization.

Sterilization has been conducted at schools of all the provinces. So far, 23 cities and provinces have completed the work while the remaining localities will have fulfilled it before February 9th.

Communication work has been enhanced to raise awareness among teachers, managers, staff and students of the virus and prevention measures.

Sixteen universities have asked their students to resume their study on February 16th to protect themselves from the novel virus.

In case of prolonged school closure, the school year will be rescheduled to end later than May 31st, and high school students will take their graduation exam later than in previous years.

Teachers at schools, colleges and universities nationwide are applying a wide range of teaching methods to help their students learn online during the school closure.

Schools that resumed study on February 3rd are continuing sterilization, providing masks for students and staff as well as using thermometers and anti-bacterial gels or liquids.

They also requested students to report their travel schedules while keeping a close watch on their health and joining hands with local medical stations so as to arrange isolation rooms if necessary.

Hanoi-Prague air route to be launched in March

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has licensed Bamboo Airways to operate a direct route between Hanoi and Prague.

The airline will operate two flights per week, which will be increased depending on the market demand.

The estimated flight time is 11 hours and 20 minutes from Hanoi to Prague, and 10 hours 20 minutes from Prague to Hanoi, significantly shorter than the 14-19 hours at present due to transit in a European or Middle East city.

According to a representative of Bamboo Airways, the first flight will be launched on March 29th.

In early January, Bamboo Airways announced cooperation with AIAREPS Group - a leading aviation service solution provider in Europe which has over 25 years of experience and 67 representative offices in over 48 countries, to prepare for the operation of the route.

In addition, the airline also opened its international agent in the Czech Republic, aiming to cover all of Europe’s famous political and tourism centres in 2021-2025.

Viettel soars in global valuable brand ranking
