The project of renovating and upgrading the Nha Trang - Sai Gon railway section will begin from April 2020 and be completed in 2021.

The Ministry of Transport has approved the policy of the project and assigned the Railway PMU to realize and make report for feasible study.
For the capital allocation plan, the ministry is proposing VND1.85 trillion for a medium-term plan during the 2016-2020 period. In addition, more than VND50 billion will be spent on preparations for investment, design, ground clearance and project management in 2019.
The project is one of 14 urgent traffic projects approved by the Standing Committee of National Assembly with a total capital of VND15 trillion drawn from the reserve fund of the State budget’s medium-term public investment plan during the 2016-2020 period./.
