The Ministry said many countries identified key agricultural products to encourage growth. However, so far, there has been not set of indicators to determine key agricultural products among countries in the world.

Through international experience on determining and developing key products, four criterion groups which most countries are using are economic criteria, social criteria, environmental criteria and criteria on prioritized products for development.

In the first 9 months of 2018, exports of major agricultural products reached USD15.16 billion, a year-on-year rise of 4.4%.

Some commodities enjoyed higher export value than in the same period last year, including rice USD2.5 million (up 23.2%), fruits and vegetables USD3.07 billion (up 17.1%), and products from rubber USD523 million (up 21.1%)./.
