As many as 23 Russian companies met and sought cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese enterprises at a forum held by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s branch in Ho Chi Minh city, on April 10th.

The Russian enterprises now operate in the fields of welding and cutting industry, protection equipment, fire protection and fighting, software management, logistics, cable, bio-medicine, medical equipment, security monitoring system, audio-visual equipment, laser technology, and robotics.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Robert Kurilo, head of the representative office of the Russian Export Center said that industrial products from Russia are flocking into the Vietnamese market.
Russia is also a potential tourism market of Vietnam and enterprises of the two sides could consider cooperative opportunities in the field. Apart from tourism, Russia sees great cooperative opportunity with Vietnam in oil and gas and agricultural products, he added.
Although two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia has increasingly grown, the demand from Russia for Vietnamese products is still huge.
The main Vietnamese commodity exported to Russia is telephone and its components, accounting for 50.2% of total turnover at the market. The two countries strive to raise two-way trade turnover to USD10 billion in 2020./.
