Agricultural, forestry and fisheries exports see surplus of USD2.8 billion

In the first 4 months of this year, the total export-import turnover of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products is estimated at nearly USD21.1 billion, with a surplus of nearly USD2.8 billion, a slight year-on-year reduction of 4.1%, the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development has reported.

In particular, the export turnover is reported at USD11.9 billion, while the import at USD9.17 billion, a year-on-year reduction of 4.9% and 5.2%, respectively.

The turnover of a majority of goods was reduced, including coffee, cashew nuts, vegetables, wood and wood products, cinnamon, bamboo and rattan. Specifically, the export coffee turnover reaches USD1.1 billion, a decrease of 1.5%; cashew nut USD948 million, a decrease of 4.2%; vegetables USD203 million, a decrease of 5%; wood and wood products USD3.22 billion, a decrease of 3.5%; bamboo, rattan and sedge carpets USD162 million, a decrease of 11.8%. 

China is still the largest market which accounts for 23.4% of the market with import-export turnover of nearly USD2.8 billion, followed by the US which accounts for 23.33% of the market with the turnover of USD2.78%, the EU accounting for 10.75% of the market with turnover of USD1.3 billion, ASEAN accounting for 10.49% with nearly USD1.3 billion, and Japan accounting for 9% of the market with nearly USD1.1 billion. 

The import turnover of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products is estimated to reach USD9.17 billion, a year-on-year reduction of 5.2%./.
