APEC 2017 opens new promising opportunities for Da Nang

In preparation for the important event, a series of APEC projects have started construction and renovation from budget and socializing capital such as: New International Terminal, International Media Centre, Tien Son Sport Palace and APEC Park.

Many roads are upgraded, embellished, and have added trees and green space. Thousands of panels and popularization ads about APEC and the city have been socialized from the source of enterprises.

Da Nang Power Company ensured the backup power supply at event venues, fulfilling the goal of “not losing power for a second”, and the telecommunications network was supported by VNPT and Viettel to ensure smooth operation of International Media Centre; contributing to introducing the quality of Vietnam’s telecommunication service.

The Central hub has also developed its own activities to actively take advantage of the opportunities offered by APEC such as: the competition of designing and making souvenirs and gifts with the participation of hundreds of enterprises and 2017 Da Nang Investment Forum. More than 800 volunteers were also trained in foreign languages, knowledge and communication skills.

Representatives of the city affirmed that the biggest success is the image of Da Nang people, who left their mark in the hearts of delegates, not only “Da Nang smile” but also many local people expressing their love by meaningful actions like joining hands to clean the environment after Storm No.12 (or named Damrey).

According to Da Nang People’s Committee, in the near future, the port city will be more active in building and shaping cultural beauty in behaviors to make “Da Nang smile” always welcome friends from around the world./.
