The five-day event is part of APEC Food Security Week 2017 in the city.

Vietnam joined the exhibition with eight large kiosks introducing many modern technology models for high productivity and good quality, while ensuring adaptation to climate change and salt intrusion on the Mekong Delta.

The kiosks exhibit products which are the strengths of Vietnam’s agriculture, such as rice, milk, and ecological agriculture cultivation along with reducing the use of pesticides.

Specifically, the event also highlighted the prominent achievements of the country’s agriculture, such as shrimp and fish breeding models, brackish water rice fields and research products of Can Tho university.

It offers opportunities for economies to exchange and learn from the methods and modern production technologies towards sustainable agriculture among APEC member economies.

Earlier, on the same day, an MOU signing ceremony on long-term cooperation in agricultural research between the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research was held.

The two sides agreed on a 10-year cooperative strategy which focuses on research cooperation areas, geographic areas and funding priorities for research programs in the 2017-2021 period./.
