In December alone, imported CBU autos rose sharply with about 16,000 units, the highest number since the beginning of the year, valued at USD227 million.

However, GSO reported, imported CBU units in December are small models with low value. Each imported unit was worth USD14,190, much lower than that of October and November with average import value of USD18,000 and USD15,833, respectively.

Earlier, according to the General Department of Customs, in 11 months, Vietnam imported more than 98,800 CBU units, worth USD2 billion with Thailand, the Republic of Korea (RoK)  and India being the three biggest markets exporting cheap CBU units to Vietnam.

Specifically, the country imported nearly 30,400 units from Thailand, worth USD569 million, 17,900 units from the RoK, worth USD270 million and 16,800 units from India, worth USD361 million./.
