According to Mr. Tran Van Nam, 12th PCC member and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, over the past 5 years, comprehensive results have been achieved thanks to the implementation of the 12th National Party Congress and the 10th provincial Party Congress resolutions. By the end of 2020, 16 of 18 targets are expected to be obtained.
He said that economic growth has remained at 9.3% on average, with increasingly improved business environment, including the attraction of over USD11 billion in FDI capital.
“So far, the province has nearly 44,000 domestic businesses with registered capital of nearly VND380 trillion,” he added. “It has also attracted nearly 4,000 FDI projects from 64 countries and territories, capitalized at over USD34 billion, accounting for 9.1% of the country’s FDI capital and ranking 2nd in FDI attraction.”
He noted that social welfare has been ensured while people’s living condition has been increasing, with average income per capita expected to reach over VND155 million per year, and no poor families having been reported for successive years. Over 46,000 labourers have gained jobs; 92 schooling constructions worth nearly VND5 trillion have been invested, together with 80 non-public educational foundations invested by businesses.
In the next term, the province will continue to further improve the investment environment by developing synchronous traffic infrastructure, completing industrial zones, and carrying out social housing for workers. In particular, it has implemented the project on building a smart city, and officially joined the World Technopolis Association (WTA) and the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF).
Mr. Nam also confirmed that the province will expand educational and medical networks, including putting into use a 1,500-sickbed hospital; and invest in parks, flower gardens and entertainment locations serving people’s daily life./.
