China’s Hong Kong trade exhibition opens in Ho Chi Minh city

More than 130 products from leading brands of Hong Kong (China) were introduced to Vietnamese consumers at “In Style Hong Kong 2018” exhibition, held by China’s Hong Kong Trade Development Council on September 20th, in Ho Chi Minh city.

The two-day event is showcasing a wide array of quality branded and designer-led lifestyle products from Hong Kong (China) companies anticipating tapping into new business opportunities from Vietnam and nearby countries.

On the sidelines, a series of business matching activities, fringe events and thematic seminars will also be held.

In his speech, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said Hong Kong is now the 9th biggest trade partner and the 16th biggest investor of Vietnam. The market now has 1,355 projects invested in Vietnam with a total registered capital of USD19 billion.

He hailed Hong Kong to expand investment in Vietnam in the fields of infrastructure, supporting industries and financial services, and pledged to create favorable conditions for foreign investors.

Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong (China), said bilateral trade and commodity turnover reached USD18.1 billion in 2017, up 11.7%. He stressed the event offers opportunities to introduce products and professional services of the market to Vietnam’s partners and friends, as well as promote economic and commercial cooperation between the two sides./.
