Da Nang plans seven hi-tech agricultural areas

The Da Nang city People’s Committee has approved seven locations for planning hi-tech agricultural production in Hoa Vang district.

Specifically, they include two areas growing vegetables, flowers and herbs in Hoa Ninh commune (40 hectares) and Hoa Phu commune (50 hectares); two closed farming areas in Hoa Khuong commune (30 hectares) and Loc My hamlet in Hoa Bac commune (230 hectares); two safe vegetable production areas in Hoa Khuong commune (20 hectares) and Hoa Phong-Hoa Khuong commune (20 hectares) and one brackish water seafood area, for shrimp and crab, in Hoa Lien commune (50 hectares).

Currently, in Da Nang, agricultural development projects are mainly located in Hoa Vang district with some producing clean agricultural products applied with hi-tech such as the safe vegetable production project in Nam Thanh hamlet (Hoa Thanh district) of Hapras Joint Stock Company with 7.5 hectares; the 10 hectare yellow saffron plantation project of Danapha Pharmaceutics Joint Stock Company in Dong Lang hamlet (Hoa Phu commune), and the green skin grapefruit plantation project in Hoa Ninh commune.

The city plans to organize a seminar to attract investment in hi-tech agriculture in order to analyse and assess the potential, advantages and challenges in developing hi-tech agriculture in Da Nang and neighbouring localities.

The seminar will promote and lure domestic and foreign enterprises and investors and international organizations looking for opportunities to invest in processing hi-tech agricultural products in the locality./.
