Dong Nai invests over VND226 billion in hi-tech aquaculture area

The detailed plan of a concentrated aquaculture area in Nhon Trach district for the 2017-2020 period, with an orientation to 2030, has been approved by the Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee.

This concentrated aquaculture area covers more than 700ha, of which brackish shrimp breeding area is 682 hectares and oyster breeding area is 21 hectares.

Total investment capital needed for technical infrastructure is more than VND226 billion, of which the state budget is nearly VND1.1 billion and the rest is from other economic sectors.

According to the provincial People’s Committee, the project is built to promote the potential and advantages, develop Nhon Trach’s aquaculture in a safe and sustainable manner, increase its value and farmers’ incomes, and protect the environment.

The project will apply advanced scientific and technological achievements, hi-tech and new standards to production in order to increase productivity and output, make high-quality products, and ensure food hygiene and safety.

In addition, it will focus on intensifying the value chain production connection from pond to table, reorganizing production, investing in developing  synchronous infrastructure, attaching importance to environmental production and adapting to climate change and the rise of sea level./.
