“K-Startup Grand Challenge” is a program invented by the Korean Government with the aim of building an open ecosystem for start-up businesses to expand markets to Asian countries using the Korean market as a pathway.

This is the third year the program is held on a global scale.

It chose Vietnam as a main venue for the regional qualifying competition which will be organized on July 9th-10th in Hanoi and July 11th-12th in Ho Chi Minh. Potential start-ups will be selected and sent to the Republic of Korea (RoK) to join the final.

As known, 80 start-ups worldwide received USD11,130 each team to cover cost of living during a 3.5-month training and connect investment and cooperation in the market. The top 40 start-ups will be selected and funded for establishing businesses and operating with the first six months in the RoK with a total aid of USD22,727.

Start-ups in all sectors have opportunity to join the program.

Besides Vietnam, Vinasa and its partners will carry out activities to promote and qualify in six countries and territories, namely, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan (China).

According to the organizers, as of May 23rd, 2018, there have been 37 registrations to join the program in Asia, including 16 from Vietnam and the rest from Southeast Asia and India.
