Long Thanh Airport urged to speed up progress

Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Trinh Dinh Dung has issued an announcement pushing the progress of Long Thanh Airport.


Accordingly, aiming to meet the requirements about the progress of the Long Thanh Airport, land acquisition, compensation, assistance and resettlement for the project must be done urgently.

He assigned the Ministry of Transport to speed up the feasibility study report for the first phase to submit to the National Assembly for approval in late 2019.

The Ministry of Transport hosts and coordinates with the Dong Nai People’s Committee, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and relevant agencies to check the making of the scheme ensuring the synchronous connection of transport infrastructure systems inside and outside the airport.

The Ministry of Construction associated with the Dong Nai People’s Committee to set up the scheme for construction of the airport as the foundation to manage, build and develop urban areas, industries and services in the airport.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will soon complete the evaluation of reports of environmental impacts of the projects; coordinate with and instruct the Dong Nai People’s Committee to carry out land recovery to clear the premises for the project.

Earlier, in April 2018, the Government issued an announcement pushing the progress of the project.

Long Thanh Airport covers six communes: Long An, Binh Son, Cam Duong, Suoi Trau, Bau Can, Long Phuoc in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, which is 40 kilometers east from Ho Chi Minh city./.

With the capacity of about 100 million passengers a years and an area of 5,500 hectares, it meets the 4F standard of the International Civil Aviation Organization and has over 1,800-meter runway./.
