M&A deals could reach USD6.7 billion in 2019

The value of merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in Vietnam is forecast to reach about USD6.7 billion in 2019, equivalent to 88.16% of last year, according to data released on July 23rd by the AVM Vietnam, a co-organizer of the Vietnam M&A Forum 2019.

The deals are mainly focused on consumer goods, retail, real estate, education and logistics. Vietnam is attracting great attraction from foreign investors with increasing transaction value.

The M&A market scale has surpassed USD5 billion a year during the 2014-2016 period and now is stable at USD6-6.5 billion a year. However, aiming at the target of USD10 billion a year as expected, more efforts are needed by Vietnamese policy makers and businesses to improve the business environment, transparency and clear investment flows through M&A deals. 

The 11th annual Vietnam M&A Forum, themed “Going for breakthrough”, will take place in GEM Conference Centre in HCM city on August 6th.
