The enterprise establishment registration situation in March 2017 hit a record high within the past six years, according to the Enterprise Development Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Specifically, this month, the country saw 12,027 enterprises established, bringing the figure for the first quarter of the year to 26,478 with a registered capital of VND271.2 trillion. These figures represent increases of 11.4% in number of enterprise and 45.8% in capital over a year earlier.
In addition, ongoing enterprises registered an additional capital of 325.4 trillion, helping the total capital to the economy in the first quarter hit more than VND596 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 8%.
During the period, 9,271 enterprises recovered their operation, a two-fold rise compared to the first quarter of 2014.
According to the Enterprise Development Agency, among more than 110,000 enterprises registering business in 2016, more than 90% enumerated and paid taxes.
This quarter also saw 9,942 enterprises suspending their operation in the first quarter; 10,700 enterprises finalizing procedures for dissolution. Most of them are small-scale enterprises./.
