Vietnamese firms poured USD411.9 million abroad in the Jan-Oct period of 2019, according to the General Statistics Office.

Of the total, more than USD311.9 million came from 128 newly-licensed projects, while the rest came from 28 others which raised their capital by USD100 million.
Most of the overseas investment focused on wholesale and retail, repair of automobiles and motorbikes at USD110.7 million, 26.9% of the total. It was followed by agriculture, forestry and fishery with USD65.6 million, equivalent to 15.9% of the investment; professional activities, science and technology with USD59.4 million (14.4%); and real estate business with USD57.9 million (14.1%).
Among 30 countries and territories receiving investment from Vietnamese firms in the 10 months, Australia topped the list with USD140.6 million, 34.1% of the total. The US came next with USD61.5 million or 14.9%.
Other destinations for Vietnamese investment were Spain with USD59.8 million or 14.5%, Cambodia USD50.6 million or 12.3% and Singapore USD35.6 million or 8.6%./.
