The Doc Soi - Pleiku 2 project is 209 kilometers in length and runs through the three provinces of Quang Ngai, Kon Tum and Gia Lai with a total investment of nearly VND3.677 trillion. Of this, the line running through Kon Tum (Kong Plong, Kon Ray districts and Kon Tum city) stretches 81.37 kilometers.

Once completed, the project will contribute to enhancing the transmission capacity of the North-South 500kV system to power plants, making up the electricity shortage of each region, especially providing electricity and ensuring energy security for the South.

The project is part of the Vung Ang - Doc Soi - Pleiku 2 500Kv grid urgent project, which received the approval of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to adjust and supplement its scheme.

It has a total length of more than 700 kilometers and runs through nine localities: Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum and Gia Lai. Its construction is scheduled to start in September 2017 and it is expected to put into operation in the first quarter of 2019./.
