Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry decreased by 26% and 1.9%, respectively; the production and distribution of electricity, gas and hot water; and air conditioning increased by 10.6% and by 11.4%, respectively; water supply, and waste management and treatment increased by 10.1% and decreased by 11%, respectively.

Industrial production activities in the province have been carried out normally in large enterprises or industries producing people’s essential products. However, following the Prime Minister's Directive 16/CT-TTg on social distancing, many manufacturing industries suspended their operations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, leading to a remarkable decrease in output compared to last month, including such products as smart phones; phone components; phone screen; glass; paperboard; and wood products.

For the 4 first months of the year, the province’s IIP saw a year-on-year increase of 2.4%, including an increase of 2.4% in manufacturing and processing industry, and 11.2% in power generation and distribution./.
