The move followed a joint decision by inter-Ministries of Industry and Trade, and Finance, which asked fuel dealers to adjust retail prices.

Accordingly, the prices of RON 92 petrol and E5 bio-fuel increased VND646 per litter and VND634 per litter, not higher than VND15,586 per litter and 15,076 per litter.

The prices of diesel, kerosene and mazut (a heavy, low quality fuel oil) were up by VND650 per litter, VND550 per littler and VND300 per kg, respectively equivalent to VND11,023 per litter, VND9,455 per liter, and VND7,860 per kg.

The adjustment, by using fuel price stabilization fund together with increasing prices, should contribute to stabilize the macro-economy, reduce inputs for enterprises as well as actively support the citizen’s life.

This is the third increase of petrol since the beginning of the year, totaling over VND1,800 per liter.

The last time was on April 20th, just witnessing the increase of 0.05S diesel (at VND10,373 per litter) and mazut of VND335 per kg (at VND7,560 per kg), while petrol price did not adjust./.
