Quy Nhon port handles 8 millionth ton of cargo

Quy Nhon port in the central province of Binh Dinh on December 16th received the 8 millionth ton of cargo in 2018, the highest-ever volume for the port.

The 8 millionth ton, owned by Maersk Line of Denmark, was transported by the Panamanian vessel Future.

In 2018, the port set a record output of cargo with an estimated 8.2-8.3 million tons. Total revenue in 2018 is expected to reach more than VND705 billion, up 13.7% from the year’s plan and up 28% over a year earlier. Before-tax profit is forecast to hit VND116.5 billion, up 5% from the year’s plan and up 24.2% over a year earlier.

Chairman and Director General of the Quy Nhon Port JSC Le Hong Thai said  aiming to achieve the result, the company intensified investment in its modern loading system and realized norms to ensure profits and encourage the improvement of productivity, quality and output.

Quy Nhon port is a national focal port (type 1) of South-central Vietnam, located in the gulf of Quy Nhon and shielded by Phuong Mai peninsula, making it extremely convenient for vessels to anchor all year round.

This port is the gate to East Sea of South-central and West Highland Vietnam, and countries in Mekong Delta./.
