Saigon Co.op prepares over 130,000 tons of goods for Tet

The total amount of goods Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co.op) planned to supply for three months before, during and after the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2018 is more than 130,000 tons, a 15% rise over a year earlier.

Of this, the amount of goods for market stabilization increased from 5% to 30%, while the remaining amount rose from 15% to 30%. The highest increase is forecast for fresh food and favourite goods during Tet such as jams, beverages, and beer.

In addition, the retail co-operatives will focus on developing goods distribution networks with clear origins, ensured quality and affordable prices, especially for Vietnamese commodities.

As planned, from now to the end of the year, it will open an additional 4-5 supermarkets, 10 food stores in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city to increase its coverage and connection for price stabilized goods and Tet goods.

On this occasion, the Co.opmart supermarket chain also increases new products with outstanding quality, along with specialized items for Tet holiday such as jam, raisins, soft drinks, sausages, lean pork paste, salted vegetables and some traditional specialty items.

Particularly, organic products of Co.op Organic will also join the Tet market with a total of 100 tons of rice, vegetables and fruit, fish and meat which meet American and European standards.

Besides, Co.opmart planned to organize about 200 mobile goods booths in remote areas and serve the demand of purchasing Tet goods of workers in industrial and processing zones in Ho Chi Minh city./.
