This is part of a cooperative program between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung Vietnam, launched on April 17th in Hanoi.

The program will include eight courses, each lasting 12 weeks. The trained experts will provide their knowledge to supply enterprises in the supporting industry, helping them improve their competitive capacity to grasp opportunities to join the global supply chain.

Speaking the launching ceremony, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh hailed the cooperative program between Samsung and the Vietnamese government and affirmed it as very significant for Vietnamese enterprises.

The program plans to give consultants to 38 Vietnamese firms by the end of 2018. Over the past time, with the contribution of Samsung to the supporting industry development goal, 29 Vietnamese enterprises have now become suppliers (level 1) of the group and the figure is expected to expand to 50 in 2020.

Hailing the trade cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung stressed the contributions of the group to Vietnam’s economy. The RoK is one of the top economic partners of Vietnam, while Vietnam is also one of the major partners of RoK firms.

More and more Korean businesses are operating in Vietnam and making important contributions to the country’s economic development, he said.

He added that Samsung’s investment makes significant contribution to the country’s State budget, creating many jobs while the group’s export turnover also makes a large proportion of Vietnam’s total annual export value./.
