SBV enhances partnership with Cambodia partner

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) on September 16th organized a bilateral meeting to share experience in macro-economy management, especially in finance-banking.

In his opening speech, NBC Governor CheaChanto expressed thanks to Vietnam for providing assistance in technology, personnel training and equipment, from its foundation in 1979 to the current strong development period. 

The leader of NBC also hailed the operation results of Vietnamese banks in Cambodia that made significant contributions to the development of the banking system and helped boost the country’s economy.

He affirmed that NBC will continue to closely coordinate with SBV to exchange delegations and share cooperation information; contributing to strengthening comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. 

SBV Governor Le Minh Hung said the bank is proud to contribute to the growth of NBC and the impressive growth of the Cambodian economy. 

He stressed that in the circumstance of the gloomy world economy with complicated development, the cooperation mechanism between the two central banks will help boost the growth of the two countries. 

Since the 2018 bilateral meeting in Vietnam, the two sides have shared information and exchanged experiences in exchange rates, automation in gathering and processing information of the foreign currency market, and researching in developing the market.

On the sidelines, participants also spent time discussing to seek solutions for difficulties and obstacles facing five Vietnamese commercial banks operating in Cambodia, including: Agribank, BIDC, MB, SHB and Sacombank./.
