SCIC signs MoU with Singaporean company

On March 23rd, Keppel Land Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) to promote investment cooperation, under the witness of Vietnamese Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong.

Under the MoU, the two sides will exchange information and consider business and investment opportunities in Vietnam.

Mr. Ang Wee Gee, Keppel Land CEO, said that Vietnam is among the important growing markets in which the company pledged to strongly reinforce its presence.

Currently, the company appears in many Asian countries with the main markets of Singapore and China, and the growing markets of Vietnam and Indonesia.

In Vietnam, Keppel Land is one the biggest real estate investors, with diversified investment items in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Dong Nai and Vung Tau, including buildings, luxury resident projects and urban complexes. So far, the company has had 20 licensed projects with 25,000 apartments in Vietnam.

SCIC’s primary objectives are to represent the state capital interests in enterprises and invest in key sectors and essential industries, with a view to strengthening the dominant role of the state sector while respecting market rules.

By 2020, the corporation will become a strategic investor of the Government, financial groups regionally, and will promote the role of the state economy in key sectors./.
