Southern city enjoys 12.9% rise in commodity retail revenue

Ho Chi Minh city’s commodity retail revenue in the first half of the year reaches an estimated VND328.5 trillion, making up 65.38% of the total commodity retail and service turnover, up 12.9% over a year earlier, reported the city Department of Industry and Trade.

In the six months, the Department of Industry and Trade carried out price stabilization programs in combination with the “Vietnamese prioritizing the use of Vietnamese goods” campaign with the participation of 90 units, including 78 enterprises and 12 credit organizations.

Commodities joining the programs are abundant and diversified, with the volume of each commodity accounting for about 25-40% of the market and increasing 15-35% on average compared to the implemented result of 2017.

In addition, total registered loans to assist enterprises to join the program are VND19.65 trillion, up 8.14% from the same period last year.

From the beginning of the year, the southern hub continued to assist localities to realize the price stabilization programs with the focus on southeastern and southwestern provinces and cities, and help enterprises invest in production establishments and cultivation towards modernity and high productivity./.
