Of this, non State-owned enterprises have achieved gigantic development compared to other types and made up 97.36% of the city’s total enterprises. Their total capital increased 2.11 fold, equivalent to VND3,262,149 billion; in which owners' capital rose 3.23 fold and net revenue target was 1.56 times higher than 2011.

These statistics also showed that, in spite of rapid growth in the number of enterprises, the majority of them are small and micro enterprises.

Among 171,655 ongoing enterprises, only 64,607 operate profitably, accounting for 37.81%; 96,936 enterprises suffered losses (56.49%) and the rest recouped their expenses.

The rate of enterprises doing unprofitable business after five years tended to increase; especially non state-owned enterprises soaring 2.87%, while those gaining profit decreased from 43.3% in 2011 to 37.41% in 2016.

The statistics were released in 2016 and do not reflect the situation of business in 2017, with many prosperous economic changes, the report noted./.
