Southern hub sees over 22,900 enterprises formed in 7 months

In the first seven months of the year, Ho Chi Minh city saw 22,972 enterprises licensing for new establishment with a total registered capital of VND297.14 trillion.

According to the city Department of Planning and Investment, although the number of newly-established enterprises rose only 12.2% in the seven months, registered capital went up 69.1% over a year earlier.

In addition, 33,521 enterprises registered to change business content, in which adjusted and added capital was VND160.408 trillion, up 10.6% in number of enterprises and up 40.5% in capital.

With these, the registered and added capital of enterprises in the seven months amounted to VND457.547 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 57.8%.

One-member limited liability companies made up the highest proportion (58.4%) with 13,406, followed by two-member limited liability companies (28.4%) with 6,527, joint-stock companies (11.8%) with 2,710, private companies (1.4%) with 326 and joint-business companies (0.01%) with just 3.

Real estate business saw the biggest number of newly-established firms (39%) with a total registered capital of nearly VND116 trillion. Retail, auto and motorbike repair also accounted for a high proportion (17.7%) with VND52.458 trillion./.
