Southern province attracts FDI from external relations activities

External relations activities have made remarkable contributions to the dynamic and comprehensive development of the southern province of Binh Duong, linking 64 countries and territories investing in the province.

The province has set up friendly and cooperative relationships with 10 foreign localities, including those from Cambodia, Laos, Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and the Federation of Russia, creating a foundation for comprehensive socio-economic cooperation.

Each year, it receives dozens of foreign high ranking delegations, diplomatic delegations, multinational companies and large businesses. Meanwhile, its authorized agencies and businesses have held diverse investment promotion programs in such potential markets as the U.S., Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore and European countries, attracting more and more foreign investors in having direct access to the province’s open and dynamic investment environment.

Additionally, the other programs in support of businesses have helped further reinforce the cooperative relationship between the province and investors.

The dynamic activities have contributed to attract more and more FDI projects into the province. So far, there has been 3,478 FDI projects worth USD31.8 billion in the province, ranking 3rd after Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi in FDI attraction.

As the province became the 106th official member of the World Technopolis Association (WTA) this March, it hosted the 2018 WTA General Assembly in October and activities marking the 20th anniversary of the WTA, linking its development strategy and the WTA development targets.

Its host of the 2018 Horasis Asia Meeting in November is also believed to bring about a new flow of investment in the near future when it gathered some 350 senior guests from 60 countries worldwide and 350 guests who are Vietnamese senior officers. During the event, CEOs and Presidents of Asian and US multinational groups, scholars, researchers and scientists sought solutions and models for new business in support of start-ups. It also helped link localities, investors and groups to seek cooperation./.
