The centre was established to realize Resolution 49/NQ-CP dated June 7th, 2016 of the Government, Decision 844/QD-TTg dated May 18th, 2016 of the Government leader approving the national program to support an innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam by the year 2025 and startup youth program in the 2016-2021 period of the Secretariat of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee.

In his speech at the launching ceremony, Le Quoc Phong, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee, said the centre aims to boost startup activities of youth, contributing to the country’s development. He hoped the centre would be a destination for the business community to share information about supportive activities for startups.

The centre has the function of advising, supporting and connecting ideas of young people to do business, such as: managing investment capital sources and loans of Vietnam Youth Federation’s Central Committee; consulting, supporting and training skills for youth to realize business ideas; connecting organizations and enterprises to support youth developing business ideas; and establishing and arranging orientation activities for an innovative startup movement nationwide.

On the sidelines, the Vietnam Youth Federation’s Central Committee signed a cooperative deal with Uber to implement the program “UberExchange – Smart Startup”.

This program aims to convey experience about management, law, communication, policy making, product design and practical training knowledge to Vietnam’s startup enterprises. It will offer a two-person trip to Silicon Valley (San Francisco, the US)  for the best start-up company to exchange and gain experiences./.
