Thai Binh EZ covers over 30,000 hectares

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to establish Thai Binh Economic Zone (EZ) in the northern province of Thai Binh.

Under the decision, the EZ is a coastal one with 30 communes and 1 town in Thai Thuy and Tien Hai districts.

Specifically, Thai Thuy district includes Diem Dien town and 14 communes: Thuy Hai, Thuy Luong, Thuy Ha, Thuy Tan, Thuy Truong, Thuy Xuan, Thuy Lien, Thai Nguyen, Thai Thuong, Thai Hoa, Thai Do, Thai Tho, Thai Xuyen and My Loc.

Meanwhile, Tien Hai district includes 16 communes: Dong Tra, Dong Hai, Dong Long, Dong Xuyen, Dong Hoang, Dong Minh, Dong Co, Dong Lam, Tay Giang, Tay Son, Nam Cuong, Nam Thang, Nam Thinh, Nam Thanh, Nam Hung and Nam Phu.

The EZ, which covers 30,583 hectares, comprises functional areas such as Thai Binh Electricity Centre; economic cluster; port and port services; tourism, recreation and entertainment area; aquaculture and coastal protection forest area; residential area, urban area; and administrative area.

It prioritizes the development of industrial sectors which utilize the advantages and potential of the region in natural gas and raw material sources, in combination with existing economic zones and industrial zones in the Red River Delta. In addition, it combines with the development of agricultural sectors, aquaculture in areas of good land quality, and abundant aquatic resources./.
