The top 50 information technology (IT) companies of Vietnam in 2017 has total revenue of over VND20.67 trillion (USD936 million) and employ over 35,500 people, according to the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA).

VINASA announced the list of Vietnam’s 50 Leading IT Companies 2017 in Hanoi on October 19th. This is the result of a voting programme that aims to honour and connect Vietnamese IT firms with potential domestic and foreign partners.

Some of these firms are taking the lead in the IT sector such as FPT Software, TMA FIS, CMC, MISA, MobiFone, VNPT and VNG, or in the hi-tech sector like ELCOM, NextTech and MK Smart.

VINASA Chairman Truong Gia Binh said amid new global technology trends and the fourth Industrial Revolution, this year’s voting programme prioritises businesses operating the fields of digital transformation, Internet of Things, and new technology trends like artificial intelligence, big data, and visual reality.

A ceremony to honour the top 50 firms will be held as part of an international conference on smart cities and the Japan ICT Day in Ho Chi Minh city on October 25th and 26th.

Aside from the list announcement, VINASA also published a book on Vietnam’s 50 Leading IT Companies 2017 written in English, Japanese and Vietnamese. This book will be used to introduce the country’s IT sector at many major IT exhibitions and events both at home and abroad.

The voting of the top 50 IT companies of Vietnam was first organised in 2014./.
