Vietnam - Japan trade increases 8.6 percent in first two months

The Vietnam - Japan trade reached USD6.2 billion in the first two months of 2020, an increase of 8.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The information was reported by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Vietnam’s exports to Japan rose by 6 percent. Agricultural exports reached USD248.3 million, up 4.7 percent year on year.

Among the agricultural items, vegetables and fruits saw the largest growth of 25 percent, followed by cashew nuts 19.1 percent, and aquatic products 2.5 percent.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, last year, the two-way trade reached USD39.9 billion, up 6 percent year-on-year with USD20.4 billion from Vietnamese exports, up 8.4 percent./.
