This is the highest ranking Vietnam has ever recorded on the firm’s Global Services Location Index (GSLI). This year marks the return of Vietnam to the Top 10 for the first time since 2013.

AT Kearney's ranking is based on these criteria: business environment, financial attractiveness, skills and resources.

Based on the criteria, the results showed that the dominant countries continue to be in Asia, as the top positions belong to India, China and Malaysia.

According to the firm, Vietnam’s software outsourcing industry reached USD2 billion in 2015 and achieved an annual growth rate of 20-25% in the last decade. Nation’s advantages are developing as the rate of software engineers proficient in English is increasing, while labor costs are much lower than in other countries.

The biggest partner of Vietnam is now Japan. However, in recent time, New Zealand has gradually taken over the position of Japan./.
