The event, co-held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Latvia Development and Investment Agency, is part of the framework of the working visit of Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics to Vietnam.

The two sides introduced market information and connected enterprises operating in the fields of information and technology, wood processing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, heating and cooling technology for buildings; and marketing and consulting.

A representative from VCCI said that Vietnam and Latvia see huge potential in trade and investment cooperation, so that the forum will initially create a bridge for enterprises to better understand each other, thereby creating trade links.

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, the Vietnam-Latvia cooperative relations have developed well. The two sides also cooperated effectively on the international arena, especially in the UN and the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).

Last year, Vietnam is the biggest trade partner of Latvia in Southeast Asia with a turnover of USD186.1 million.

Vietnam’s main products exported to Latvia are agricultural and seafood products, knitted bamboo, wood, garments and textiles, and footwear, while products imported from Latvia include rubber, wood, textile materials, footwear, machinery and equipment./.
