Vietnam ranks 86 in Global Talent Competitiveness Index

Vietnam ranked 86th out of 118 countries and territories globally on the Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI) report 2017.

Compared to the GTCI report 2016, Vietnam dropped four spots, from 82 to 86. This is the second consecutive year the country fell behind on the index, as it ranked 75th among 93 countries and territories in 2014.

At 86th place, Vietnam gained good scores for skills related to global knowledge, but it fell behind on labour and technical skills index.

In comparison with other countries in ASEAN, Vietnam lagged behind on GTCI. Specifically, Singapore ranked second, Malaysia at 28th, the Philippines at 52nd and Thailand at 73rd. Meanwhile, the country enjoyed a higher ranking than Indonesia (90) and Cambodia (108).

Switzerland and Singapore occupied the first two places of GTCI 2017, followed by the UK and the US.

The fourth edition of Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI) was released by INSEAD, the Business School for the World, in partnership with The Adecco Group and the Human Capital Leadership Institute of Singapore (HCLI). 

The GTCI measures how countries grow, attract and retain talent, providing a resource for decision makers to develop strategies for boosting their talent competitiveness.

The theme of this fourth edition of the GTCI is Talent and Technology: Shaping the Future of Work./.
