Vietnam spends over USD15 million importing beef in two months

In the first two months of 2018, the country imported 1,349 tons of beef from the US, worth USD8.9 million and 948 tons from Australia, worth USD6.6 million, according to General Department of Customs.

Of this, at the Australian market, Vietnam imported 930 tons of boneless beef and 18 tons of beef ribs, while those from the US market included 834 tons of boneless beef and 65 tons of beef ribs.
Total money spent on the imports was more than USD15 million, equivalent to over VND300 billion.
Last year, the nation imported 210 tons of beef ribs and 3,901 tons of boneless beef from Australia, and 6,085 tons of boneless beef and 353 tons of ribs from the US./.
