Vietnam to have first smart media city

The An Van Duong new urban area was chosen to build the smart media city

Accordingly, the smart media city will be built in the An Van Duong new urban area in Hue city, on an area of 39.6 hectares with a total investment of over USD22 million.

The project aims to build the first smart media city in Vietnam, with a focus on developing information technology, virtual reality technology, and the movies industry.

In addition, it will connect the historic resources that are preserved in Hue, highly-qualified human resources and the local tourism industry.

The project will help to expand existing industries through attracting new industries in combination with tourism; improve attraction to enterprises, especially strategic ones; speed up the local economy by creating jobs for local human resources; and develop urban centers sustainably through applying smart digital technology.

Hailing the ideal of building the smart media city, Phan Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, urged relevant units to speed up the progress of the project and develop it quickly as a key project of the locality.

The project is as part of the master program on promoting smart urban services in Thua Thien - Hue province until 2020 with a vision to 2025./.
