(CPV) - The Vietnam Military-run Industry and Telecommunication Group (Viettel) has approximately 1 million more 4G subscribers in the first quarter of 2019, marking the fastest ever monthly growth rate.

Currently, the group has nearly 17 million 4G subscribers, 1.3 fold higher than the total number of 4G subscribers of all other mobile networks, according to data released by the Ministry of Information and Communications until the end of 2018.
The consumer data flow increased by 102% from the same period last year, while total spending on mobile services only rose by 21%.
The boom in 4G and sharp increase in data consumption helped Viettel’s revenue achieve VND54.4 trillion in the first quarter, fulfilling 107% of the year’s plan.
As planned, Viettel will continue to improving the quality of the 4G network in the second quarter, bringing the total number of stations to 50,000. The group will officially test the 5G mobile network with gigabit speed in May 2019./.
