Of this expense, State budget is VND110 billion and the rest comes from enterprises, farmers, and credit loans.

The project aims to develop links between producers and consumers, and build high-quality coffee material areas with drying systems, storage and processing facilities in accordance with production scale.

It focuses on improving incomes of coffee growers by increasing the value of coffee products by 5% by 2020 and by 7% by 2023 compared to average income of the 2013-2014 crop.

At least 10 enterprises will be supported to complete the application of wet processing technology with the use of enzymes and microorganism, improve the quality, and reduce losses after harvest. While a minimum of 5-10 enterprises will be assisted to build high-quality coffee production model.

According to Vietnamnet news, in 2000, Vietnam shipped about 680,000 tons of coffee, earning a turnover of more than USD500 million, ranking second after Brazil. So far, the country has retained its position with a coffee export turnover of USD2.69 billion in the first ten months of 2017.

However, experts said that after nearly 20 years of occupying the second position, Vietnam’s coffee is still exported raw and very few people in the world know its trademark.

The project will be realized from 2018 to 2023, with a vision to 2030./.
