The Ho Chi Minh city's Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association on August 20th marked 25 years of its establishment (August 17th).

Mr. Nguyen Cong Tanh, Head of Ho Chi Minh city’s Vietnam–Japan Friendship Association, said that over the past 25 years, the association has always played an important role in the development of people and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in general, and Ho Chi Minh city and Japan in particular.

With
25 branches, it has had many cultural exchanges, organized friendship and social charity events, actively contributing to strengthening and enhancing the friendship between the Vietnamese people, including people of the city, and the Japanese people.

Mr. Kawaue Junichi, Consul General of Japan to Ho Chi Minh city, said that the Vietnam-Japan friendship exchange activities in the city are happening actively and diversified in many fields, with the active participation of the association, contributing to introducing Japanese culture and people to the local people.

On this occasion, the exhibition themed "Japanese peace movement supports Vietnam during the wartime (1954-1975) and Vietnam-Japan Friendship" was opened with more than 200 images, materials and exhibits in order to introduce events taking place during the anti-Vietnam war movement in Japan./.
